lululemon partnered up with world champion professional surfer Malia Manuel to create a line of swimwear designed specifically for surfing.

This project included a full photographic campaign highlighting the entire collection, all shot on the beautiful beaches of Kauai, Hawaii - Malia’s hometown.

Surf photography tends to have an oversaturated HDR style, we wanted to steer away from that, while still capturing the sport in an authentic light. We used shallow depth of field with a slightly desaturated documentary-style of capture, the result was a beautiful set of still photography and film that we used across the campaign.
